Rapid limited palette study of a river bank with active water. Hot press paper (not from a block) with an ink sketch painted out on the upper left. 5.5 x 7 inches. My daughter was painting next to me using post-it notes and watercolor.
Erik, you've got one lucky daughter! This painting is haunting and gorgeous as ever; I really like the skylight you brought in on the midground tree. Looks like you had a great holiday. :)
wow! I thought that this painting was of epic proportions until I saw the measurements. There is so much atmosphere and tension in this small painting, it's brilliant. Your daughter must be inspired!

I love the mood you're able to capture in your pieces. Thanks for the post.
As always - great color and light. I like it! But where is the image your daughter painted?
Your stuff is always an inspiration, Eric
OMG..........
Beautiful!
purely awesome.
Fantastic! Those colours match perfectly...I am green with envy, Sir ;-D
Love this a lot. Colors, atmosphere, mood, is fantastic. It reminds me on old masters from Baroque and Romanticism which is good.
Anyway, all your work is fantastic.
