A few more sumi-e brush studies painted on rice paper. The tree study is based on a rapid pen sketch I made while walking on a coastal trail near Pacifica, California. The mountain study is more of calligraphic exercise from imagination. I'm curious to try other unique papers with ink and watercolor.

Wonderful! I think you really captured the essence of Chinese ink paintings.

Beautiful work Eric! I often shoot some archery in Pacifica...it's gorgeous around there.

Thank you Valery, Patrick & Agapetos! I just ordered some more paper from Japan with sizing. Looking forward to trying the Chinese double ply rice papers as well.

I love these environments Erik. The experimentation that you do is great! It's kool to see an established artist such yourself still trying out new things and expanding horizons of their skill. I'm trying to do the same with my environments, Not so long ago it was all digital right now trying to switch up and go manual.. Great pieces n inspiration for the day!
