Large 24"x18" warm up sketch 20mins over abstract transparent doodles. This was a class demo while everyone was warming up. Starting very transparent then mix gouache into the wet washes.
Thanks everyone for the feedback! I will consider teaching one in the Bay Area, maybe next spring 2010. Perhaps Half Moon Bay area, or near the Golden Gate. If you are interested let me know, I will make a list.
Wow, thanks for posting your class notes. how long do these 'sketches' take you to do? I am VERY interested in signing up for your class in the spring 2010 if you have it at either by golden gate and/or Half Moon Bay, what about Pacifica? ;P How many out of your sketches(from a one day session), do you turn into final paintings? when at work, is it the same process, or is it all done digitally? Thanks Erik!
btw, can't wait for your next gnomon dvd to come out. the first one was very insightful in your process and I got a lot out of it.
I wish I could come to one of your Workshops but being a poor ceramics university student in England makes it impossible, especially as I have a young family

Thank you Erik for a great workshop. I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more of your paintings.
Too bad I missed this one, looks like allot of fun! Hopefully I can make the next one. Any chance of it being closer to SF?
Chris-
